Road Construction Updates

Connecting Wisconsin

Road construction in Brown County will take place over a 14 mile stretch of highway 41, and is schedule to last until 2017. The project includes the addition of 28 roundabouts and nine rebuilt interchanges, including the Scheuring Road, Mason Street and WI 29 interchanges. Highlights of the construction projects are available on the DOT Web site, www.us41wisconsin.gov.

As new information becomes available, we will also provide construction updates and driving directions to help our patients find the most efficient routes to their appointments. Main Avenue (County G) De Pere

On March 5, 2012, Main Avenue at the U.S. 41 interchange area will be down to one lane in each direction. This will continue until approximately November 2012, except for a 60 day period when the entire road will be closed. This 60 day closure is anticipated to begin in mid-August and will reopen mid-October. In addition, the Mid Valley Drive at the Main Avenue interchange will be closed for the same 60 day period. There also may be some periodic night time closures in this area; however, they will be communicated to the public as scheduled.

If you are looking to access the southbound on ramp beginning on or about March 12, 2012 it will be closed and is not scheduled to reopen for the duration of the project. The Park and Ride at U.S. 41 and Main Avenue will be closed from mid-August through November as the entire lot will be rebuilt. The exact date of the closure has not been determined at this time. In addition, if you are looking to access U.S. 41 from Ashland Avenue there will be a temporary access road that will be maintained for the entire project.

US 41 Mainline from Orange Lane to Glory Road

Reconstruction of the mainline highway from Orange Lane (south of Scheuring Road) to Glory Road (between Main Avenue and Oneida Street) will begin in March 2012 and is scheduled to be completed in June 2013. Two lanes of traffic will remain open during normal business hours in each direction; however, night time work will have the highway reduced to one lane in each direction. During this road construction, the roadway will be reduced in width and traffic congestion is anticipated.

Oneida Street

Oneida Street from Hansen Road to Cormier will be under construction from February 2012 through September 2012. The street will be reduced to one lane in each direction for the length of the project.
