Together, we will take many factors into consideration before moving forward with knee surgery. These include your age, bone density, life goals, and overall health.

The following simple questions will give you an idea of when you should begin to consider knee replacement surgery.

Answer yes or no to help determine the severity of your knee issue:

  • I have knee pain that keeps me awake or wakes me up, at night.
  • My knee pain limits activities necessary to go about my daily activities such as getting up from a chair, climbing stairs or walking to the mailbox.
  • My knee pain limits activities that I enjoy, such as biking, gardening, traveling or shopping.
  • I have tried other treatments (medication, physical therapy or lifestyle changes such as exercise) for a reasonable period of time and I still have ongoing knee pain.

If you answered yes to two or more of the above statements, schedule an appointment with a Prevea orthopedist to discuss your knee pain. Or, if you have questions about the assessment, feel free to call 920-272-1555.
