Continence & Pelvic Dysfunction Clinic

Options Abound for Better Bladder Control

If you are suffering with bladder control issues, the physicians and providers of the Prevea Continence & Pelvic Dysfunction Clinic want you to know that many treatment options are available.

After a thorough evaluation by a physician, a member of the clinic may be able to assist you with non-surgical management techniques for urinary incontinence. Behavioral and dietary changes along with pelvic floor retraining, biofeedback and medications are just a few options for treating urge incontinence—often referred to as an overactive bladder.

Prevea Health also offers surgical treatment options for stress urinary incontinence, which occurs during stressful activities such as physical activity, coughing, exercise or lifting. The most common surgery is the sling procedure. During this minimally invasive outpatient procedure, a urologist applies a strip of tissue under the urethra to lessen the chance of leakage.

With appropriate guidance and counseling, these treatments can help patients to enjoy a healthy and more active life. For more information, call your Prevea primary care provider at (920) 496-4700 or (888) 2PREVEA.
