I have honed my skills as surgeon over the past three decades. As a general and vascular surgeon, an important part of my role is to educate and accommodate my patients whenever possible. I think it’s helpful when patients bring a close friend or family member with them when they come in for a surgical consultation because it’s easy to forget or misunderstand the important medical information given in the office.I chose medicine because I liked science and I was fortunate to have a good role model in our family doctor. I also like to work with my hands and to build things, so surgery seemed like a natural specialty to follow.
