Provider Bio

My patient care philosophy is one of taking aggressive efforts to diagnose conditions, followed by therapy that is generally evidence based. In addition to the practice of general internal medicine, I have developed specific interests in the fields of heart failure and osteoporosis.

It’s helpful if a new patient brings a list of his or her previous illnesses, surgeries, and hospitalizations, including a rough time frame as to when those events happened. It also is important to bring along all current medications.

I decided to pursue a career in medicine in high school, primarily based on my interest in biology. I majored in Biological Sciences in college and felt that medicine offered the best practical application of this material.

I eventually chose my specialty (Internal Medicine) based on my desire to provide primary care to the family. I felt that the intense training involved in internal medicine would prepare me well to serve my future patients. I was especially attracted to the non-surgical approach to medical care, as well as the emphasis of precise diagnosis.

On a personal note, I’m married and have three children. I spend my free time with my family. I love to play sports, especially anything with my kids, as well as golf and tennis.
