Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner, National Certification Corporation
My mom helped to steer me into health care because she was a nurse and she recognized the fact that I am a people-pleaser. It makes me feel good knowing I help others.I believe I bring a unique perspective dealing with the treatment of patients based on my own personal medical/nursing experiences in this field. I believe in treating patients in the same way I would want to be treated. I try to address all of a patient's concerns when they come to see me.Patients can be better prepared when they bring in all the medications they use, including both prescription and non-prescription (such as vitamins and herbal supplements), as well as a list of written questions.I've been a member of Prevea Health for all but one year since graduating as a professional nurse. My certification credentials include NCC, BLS, APNP and RN. I started out my career as a phone triage nurse in OB/GYN. Now I work in surgery. I am married to a wonderful husband and have two beautiful daughters. Our family also includes an English Cocker Spaniel named Fritz. Outside of work I garden, deer hunt (although I do more watching than shooting) and anything the kids want to do. I love to read, but most of the books I've read lately are children's books!
