Dr. Halvorsen received her B.A. in psychology from Northern Michigan University-Marquette and her Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Indiana State University-Terre Haute. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship program in clinical health psychology at Michigan State University-Flint Area Medical Education Consortium for Advanced Psychology Training. Her internships included posts at the Midwest Center for Rural Health in Clay City, Indiana and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, in Battle Creek, Michigan. Her special interests include helping patients understand the relationship between emotional and physical health and helping them cope with the consequences of heart disease.
