I believe that effective healthcare includes patients having an active role in their care. I encompass a non-judgmental, accepting environment and enjoy offering education on disease prevention, management and health promotion. I was a registered nurse for 10 years prior to becoming a nurse practitioner. I worked in a variety of settings including a general medical/surgical unit, obstetrics, and in the operating room and as a nurse practitioner, I have worked in urology. I hope to pull from my past experiences to offer what I have learned to my patients. I enjoy working with patients to encourage a healthy lifestyle and prevention, which is a key component in healthy living. I am married with two wonderful boys. We enjoy spending time together, boating, skiing (down-hill and water), salmon fishing, and traveling. In my free time, I run, swim and bike and enjoy participating in local marathons and triathlons.
