Veteran marathon and ultra-marathon runner, Jessica Rein, will discuss all the ins and outs of training for your half or full marathon. This interactive discussion will cover in-depth the proper ways to train using different types of running programs, strength training, proper shoe fitting and Jessica will get you moving doing her favorite exercises and stretches to prevent injury while training.
Working the right muscles to run
Eric Gorder, LUV2RUN Director and personal trainer, will lead you through exercises to activate and strengthen the right muscles to benefit your running. Come prepared to workout and see what muscles you have been missing so you can run faster and move better.
Skipping breakfast is never good
Prevea Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and fellow marathon runner, Deb Guenterberg, will lead a hands-on demonstration on preparing simple healthy breakfast meals for the distance runner. Come prepared to try new recipes and learn new ways to fuel your body in the morning to prepare for your day.
Yoga and pints
Join us for an active session of yoga to help both the body and mind recover. Liz Sternig, a yoga instructor, will lead the session in hopes of challenging all in attendance in both a physical and mental workout to prepare you for the remainder of your training.
