Prevea Health

Eating Disorder Treatment Program

We know how frightening eating disorders can be, and we’re here to help.

If you or a loved one has an eating disorder, you may feel comforted knowing there is an Eating Disorder Treatment Program at Prevea Health unlike any other program in the area. A comprehensive program to manage eating disorders with a focus on both medical and therapeutic components, this family-focused program will empower individuals and their families affected by anorexia and bulimia. Behavioral Care staff and medical providers work as a team using a family-based treatment approach which has proved to be very helpful in creating lasting change and health.

Please contact Prevea Behavioral Care at (920) 272-1200 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

What happens at Prevea’s Eating Disorder Treatment Program?

At Prevea’s Eating Disorder Treatment Program, you and your family will meet with a series of health professionals, including specially trained medical and mental health personnel. Some of the topics discussed include your current diet, exercise habits and behaviors, as well as, your family history and life stressors. In fact, one of your treatment appointments will include an informal family dinner at our office. In addition, we will educate you and your family on how to eat properly and how to manage your eating program if you are struggling.

Together, we will work to restore a healthy weight, attain control over your eating habits, and establish a healthy and age-appropriate identity.

The Maudsley Approach

Your family, including your parents and siblings, will be involved in your treatment plan.
The Prevea Eating Disorder Program utilizes a family-based treatment plan, known as the Maudsley approach. The Maudsley approach works on a proven theory that the family is not only an important resource, but also necessary for successful treatment of eating disorders. This treatment plan has a statistically high success rate, with a low relapse rate.

We want to help you to get better. Please let us know if we can help you in any way. Contact your primary care provider or Prevea Behavioral Care at (920) 272-1200 for more information or to schedule an appointment.
