The Prevea Training Runs have had thousands of runners participate and complete half and full marathons. There are many reasons why runners come back every year to participate in the 19-week training program, but here are the top five:
1) Planned Routes
The routes are planned by the race director and staff of the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon, so runners can get a feel for race-day routes. The courses are planned to be as safe as possible, but they are still open to traffic. Please follow the rules of the road
to ensure the safest running experience.
2) Water and Gatorade on the Course
Prevea Training Runs provide Gatorade and water for runners and walkers every week. The stations are manned by the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon charity partners and members of the Green Bay Running Club. Please thank them when you run by.
3) Socializing with Other Runners
Prevea Training Runs bring people together for a common goal – to get healthy. They also provide a great opportunity to meet a significant other or begin a great running friendship.
4) Injury Advice
The great staff from Prevea Sports Medicine offers injury advice after all Prevea Training Runs. If you have an ache or pain while training, check in with the experienced staff to get you back up and running with less pain.
5) They are FREE!
All Prevea Training Runs are FREE of charge. However, since they are free, we encourage participants to donate to the charity partners who volunteer their Saturday mornings to work the water stations. If everyone donates $1 per week, we can give more than $30,000 to our local charities.
