What is the Sustaining Recovery Program?
The Sustaining Recovery Program is a structured, eight-week, evidence-based program that will provide the necessary information and skill sets to better understand the disease of addiction and co-occurring disorders. The group meets three times per week, and participants will be offered information on recovery and healthy coping skills to promote resiliency.Group participants are encouraged to participate in individual therapy, as individual sessions with their primary counselor will provide an opportunity to further address personal issues or concerns and add support for participants in order to reach their desired goals.
Goals of the Program:
The goal of this program is to provide participants with information regarding the disease concept of addiction, education about co-occurring disorders, healthy coping skills, relapse prevention planning, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills for addiction. Participants will gain knowledge and an individualized skill set to provide them with the opportunity to make changes in their life that support their desired recovery goals.Following the completion of the Sustaining Recovery Program, participants are transitioned into the Continuing Care Group, an eight-week group program that is held twice per week. There is the option for participants to continue engaging in individual sessions with their primary counselor.
The Sustaining Recovery Program integrates family involvement by providing an educational group in which participants can invite their loved ones and/or members of their support system. All participants are required to attend this group session and are strongly encouraged to invite their support system to attend this group as it increases chances for long-term success in recovery.
