Green Bay – The MCW-Prevea Family Medicine Residency Program is pleased to announce its first round of physicians now accepting appointments at the Prevea Shawano Avenue Health Center, 1727 Shawano Ave. in Green Bay:  Kalpana Bair, MD;  Snigdha Kalidindi, MD;  Nana Merabova, MD; and  Sarah Zeeshan, MD.

The MCW-Prevea Family Medicine Residency Program is for physicians who have completed medical school and  are interested in the field of family medicine. Physicians train for 3 years in the program, providing direct medical care to patients under the supervision of experienced faculty physicians and community preceptors.

The MCW-Prevea Family Medicine Residency Program operates out of the Prevea Shawano Avenue Health Center to provide a variety of primary health care services for adults, children and the elderly.  Appointments with a family medicine resident physician at the Prevea Shawano Avenue Health Center can be made now by calling (920) 431-1810.  Same-day appointments are available.

Fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the MCW-Prevea Family Medicine Residency Program is the first residency program of its kind to be offered in the Green Bay region. It operates as a partnership between Prevea Health, the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), Wisconsin Northern and Central GME Consortium (WiNC) and HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center.

Drs. Bair, Kalidindi, Merabova and Zeeshan are the first physicians to be matched with the residency program since it was  launched in 2020. The MCW-Prevea Family Medicine Residency Program will accept four resident physicians each year for a three-year training period.

Resident physicians of the MCW-Prevea Family Medicine Residency Program also train at additional Prevea health centers across Northeast Wisconsin and at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital, HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital and HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center in Green Bay.

In addition to providing new physicians with advanced training in the field of family medicine, the residency program also serves to address physician and primary care shortages in the region, particularly in rural areas.
