Experienced team of experts
The cardiothoracic surgery team of board-certified heart, lung and chest surgeons and anesthesiologists at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital is the most experienced team in the region.
Northeast Wisconsin’s only dedicated cardiovascular ICU
The healing process doesn’t stop at surgery. In fact, recovery care immediately following heart, lung or chest surgery is equally as important as the surgery itself. That is why we have developed the region’s only dedicated cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU). Patients recovering in our CVICU are cared for by doctors, nurses and experts at every level in the specific needs of cardiothoracic healing.
One of the lowest surgery infection rates.
Based on the Society of Thoracic Surgeons benchmark, our heart team has one of the lowest sternal wound infection rates following bypass surgery.
