Accepting new patients
“
I create a collaborative relationship with my patients and their family members through compassion and listening. My goal is to create a space where patients and their loves ones feel safe, respected, and comfortable to talk about their concerns and to tell their stories. By listening to my patients and their loved ones, I can better understand their stories, areas of strength, and areas of difficulty, so we can find additional resources, recommendations, and next steps that are beneficial for my patient and their family members.
During a neuropsychological appointment, the day consists of three main parts: a conversation with me, testing and feedback. I will ask about current concerns about thinking skills (e.g., memory, attention, language, problem solving), mood, family history and general health. I may also ask to speak to any family members, friends, or supportive people who attend the appointment so I can integrate multiple perspectives. The testing portion of the day is the longest and typically takes two to three hours. All of the testing is low-tech and generally consists of being asked to provide answers to verbal or visual questions. It may feel like patients are back in school and may feel tired at the end of testing, which is perfectly normal! When testing is complete, we take a brief break while I look over the data from testing. At the end of the appointment, I meet with most patients to talk about any diagnoses, what is likely causing their cognitive difficulties, and any recommendations or resources that may be helpful. Finally, I write up a report that will be sent back to your referring physician and uploaded to your patient portal.
My family has been native to the greater Green Bay area for generations and I am very excited to be serving my home community."
