“
I have had the privilege of working with children and families of all backgrounds and contexts, from the time they are planning to start their family until the time those children transition to adulthood, in various settings across the United States and overseas. I have been a military spouse and raised my own children in the military culture for 16 years. I come from a blended family which has provided me a level of understanding for the ebb and flow that blended families experience. I have been extremely fortunate to have a front row seat understanding and respecting that children learn and grow on their own terms and each family has its own unique composition impacted greatly by the environment around and resources available to them.
I believe every young person deserves a safe and supportive space to be heard, understood and valued. My philosophy of care is grounded in the belief that growth and healing happen through strong relationships, collaboration and empowerment.
I focus on each child's unique strengths, helping them build resilience, self-confidence, a healthy and respectful level of control, and healthy coping strategies. I recognize the vital role families play in development and work closely with parents, caregivers, and siblings to strengthen communication, foster understanding, and create supportive and safe home environments. Children, teens, and families all participate in goal setting and are empowered to make decisions about their care."
