An Update on Prevea’s Western Wisconsin Operation
You will meet with your OB doctor and other providers several times throughout your pregnancy, so it is important you select a provider you like and feel comfortable with.

Weeks 1-28
In the first 28 weeks of pregnancy, you will meet with your provider every four weeks. In those appointments they will check your weight, blood pressure, urine, baby’s heartbeat, take a uterine measurement and answer any questions you may have.

Approximately week 20
At approximately 20 weeks, you will have an ob ultrasound. You will be able to see many different views of baby and its development. You will also be provided images of baby that you can take home and share with family and friends.

Between 24 and 28 weeks
Between 24 and 28 weeks you will have additional testing during your appointment. Tests include an ob blood sugar test to check for diabetes and a blood test to ensure iron counts are appropriate and screen for Rhesus (Rh) factor – a protein found on the surface of red blood cells.

Weeks 29 to 36
From 28 to 36 weeks you will meet with your provider every 2 to 3 weeks. In these appointments, the provider will again take your weight, blood pressure, a urine sample, check baby’s heartbeat, take a uterine measurement and may perform a pelvic exam.

Weeks 36 to 40
From 36 weeks until delivery you will meet with your provider weekly. In these appointments, the provider will again take your weight, blood pressure, a urine sample, check baby’s heartbeat, take a uterine measurement and perform a pelvic exam.

To keep track of your pregnancy progress on your own, download a pregnancy visit tracking worksheet. You can record important measurements and notes to keep as your personal record. It is important to ask your provider any questions you have. Your provider wants to support you through your pregnancy, which includes being your resources for any pregnancy questions.
