Trusted, team-based care.

Prevea’s family medicine residency program offers a unique compassionate and patient-focused teaching environment where experienced faculty physicians work alongside highly qualified resident physicians. It’s a collaborative approach to medical care that means more thorough exams, more time with your doctor and multiple medical perspectives for your health care needs.

Two doctors, one appointment. More perspective.

You'll see a resident physician who, as a recent medical school graduate, brings fresh insights and the latest medical knowledge to your care. These passionate residents work under the close supervision of experienced faculty physicians who are experts in family medicine. Because our faculty actively teach the next generation of doctors, they stay current on leading-edge medical advances while bringing years of clinical experience to your treatment. This partnership means you receive advanced medicine, compassionate care and experienced guidance - a higher level of care that can only be provided through a teaching clinic like our residency program.

More time, more attention.

Our teaching approach means we schedule more time for each patient, so you'll never feel rushed at your doctor visit. Here, family medicine resident physicians and faculty physicians spend time listening and getting to know their patients to ensure their medical needs are being met and all their questions are answered. Experience more thorough exams and a health care team that's invested in keeping you well.

Yes. All of our resident physicians are licensed by the state of Wisconsin and work under the supervision of an attending physician.
Resident physicians have a medical degree (MD, DO) – signifying the completion of medical school. During medical school, in addition to advanced science coursework, medical students complete two years of direct patient care in multiple medical specialties.
Located in Green Bay, the MCW-Prevea Green Bay Family Medicine Residency Program is a partnership between Prevea Health, HSHS St. Vincent Hospital, Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and the Wisconsin Northern & Central Graduate Medical Education Consortium (WiNC).

The purpose of the Prevea’s residency program is for resident physicians to enhance their learning experience for the full spectrum of family medicine so they can follow patients through their entire health care journey – from routine medical care to unexpected health concerns and hospitalization; through pregnancy, labor and delivery, and taking care of newborns; to nursing home and end of life care.
Family medicine resident physicians and faculty physicians work together, providing patients with a collaborative approach to medical care, and spend time getting to know their patients at each appointment.

Residents are licensed physicians who have completed medical school and are now going through specialized medical training in a particular field of medicine. In this case, the field of medicine is family medicine. They work under the supervision of experienced faculty physicians, providing direct medical care to patients.
There are several benefits to seeking care from our family medicine resident physicians.
  • You have access to same-day or next-day appointments.
  • The resident physicians spend time with you at your appointment, getting to know you and your health goals. You'll never feel rushed.
  • Instead of one physician evaluating and caring for you, you get a second opinion when the resident physician discusses your care plan with the faculty physician.
  • Family medicine resident physicians care for people of all ages and in all stages of life, for a variety of health care needs. Whether you are feeling sick, have a chronic health condition or you visit the doctor once a year to check up on your health, our resident physicians can care for you.
  • You are participating in the training of new family medicine physicians and contributing to the future of medicine and improving access to health care.
