• Prevea’s pediatric hematologists-oncologists are highly skilled in diagnosing and treating blood disorders and cancers, for children and teenagers.
• The area’s only pediatric intensivists and hospitalists are trained in caring for kids who are hospitalized or in need of intensive care when families need them most. Pediatric intensivists provide medical management and care for children in critical care, following major surgery, and procedural sedation.
• A radiation oncologist has advanced training in radiation therapy and provides radiation treatments to children of all ages. From the initial consult through follow up care, they prescribe the appropriate radiation therapy treatment plan and provide close patient management throughout the course of treatment.

To diagnose, monitor and best treat their disease, pediatric hematology and oncology patients undergo many tests and procedures as part of their care plan. While some tests are quick and painless, we have sedation available to reduce anxiety or pain, as well as child life specialists who are professionally trained and experienced in providing distraction techniques and teaching kids coping skills during treatment.
