SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital and Prevea Health will host free stroke and heart attack screenings on Dec. 6, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., at HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital’s Christopher Conference Room, 3100 Superior Ave., Sheboygan.

Strokes and heart attacks can happen to anyone at any age – including men and women from various backgrounds. However, many strokes and heart attacks are preventable. Prevea and HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital health care providers recognize that stroke and heart attack prevention begin with a person’s desire to take control of their health by getting screened. Through free stroke and heart attack screenings at HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital, individuals can learn how to manage potential risk factors to reduce their chances of having a heart attack or stroke.

The free stroke and heart attack screenings are conducted by a registered nurse who will:
  • Check blood pressure and pulse
  • Check fasting cholesterol and glucose (blood sugar) levels
  • Review stroke and heart attack risk history
  • Provide education to help control personal risk-factors for stroke and heart attack

Registration is required for the stroke and heart attack screening. To schedule a free screening for this event on Dec. 6, call (920) 457-3737.
