My experiences caring for sick children and their families during what are often some of the worst times of their lives have immensely shaped how I care for these families now. I strive to walk alongside my patients and their families to meet them where they are, while simultaneously providing open, honest and compassionate care.
I believe that patient care should always revolve around the best interest of the child or young adult being cared for. In doing this, I always aim to involve families in a shared decision making model to ensure their wishes are also being taken into account. At the end of the day, our patients are also kids and young adults, and I never forget that they had and hopefully will continue to have a life outside of the hospital.
I will always focus on the patient first and foremost, whether that be an infant several weeks old to a young adult in their early twenties. Parental and family involvement is also key in my patient care model, particularly with children under 18 years of age. I seek to make my patients and families as comfortable as possible throughout their time in the hospital, be it on our general care or intensive care services.
On a personal note, I am married to my wife, Allie. We have a young son and a retired racing greyhound, who is blind. I am newly returning to the Green Bay Area after multiple years in Michigan completing my medical training, but I hope to get involved with local golf and soccer programs as well as the medical school here. My wife and I will also get involved with local greyhound rescue organizations. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, golf, soccer, spending time with my wife, son and our dog. We love the Packers, Bucks and Chelsea FC.
