VIEW MY FULL BIO
I was a general pediatrician in central Alaska for more than five years before training to be a pediatric cardiologist. It was that experience, working closely with colleagues and families in an isolated area, that shaped the kind of provider I am today--I enjoy working closely with families. I understand working with limited resources and the need to communicate with specialists via phone or email rather than having a patient constantly travel to receive specialty care.

I love children and always knew I wanted to make a difference in their lives. My favorite part of being a doctor is forming connections and lifelong bonds with children and their families.

I provide families with a thorough, non-rushed evaluation of their child’s cardiovascular issue and offer the best information to empower them to make the best decisions for their child. I am happy to spend extra time explaining a defect or disorder to a family so they can actively take part in the discussion of care options, rather than telling them the plan and expecting them to accept it. My goal is to have every question answered, and the answers understood, before a family leaves my office. If they think of additional questions after they leave the office, I encourage them to contact me.

I have two boys and a standard poodle. I have lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Fairbanks, Alaska, Portland, Oregon, San Diego, California, back to Fairbanks, Alaska, Rochester, Minnesota, and now Green Bay. Our motto has been, “it’s not where you are, it’s who you are.” We are looking forward to Green Bay being our last stop as we are ready to put down roots.

I am a 4th degree black belt in Taekwondo and was a world champion in my youth. Since having kids, medical training and work (real world "stuff"), I haven’t been active in Taekwondo in a number of years--but I still think it’s a great sport. I love being with my family, reading, watching movies and playing outside. I enjoy the water, river boating, snowmobiling and sledding."
